Its nearly christmas

Hello there,

Its feels like its been a very long time since I did a blog post, so here it goes.

Its nearly Christmas... which means presents, long nights and lots and lots of food. Normally at this time of the year, I would be complaining about the cold and walking back from college, however that has all changed and instead, I find myself running back home in time for Christmas.

This week is the last week in university and semester 1 is nearly over, and of course that means home time but also it means exams are near. This year I am not going to let that ruin the festive mood.

I have decided that for the next three weeks, I am going to try my best to blog once a day about my Christmas antics.

Meanwhile, this week I have numerous different events that I been asked to go to and the first thing that crosses my mind is ... what am I to wear ?

So I decided to share with you my little tips for that festive outfit.

TIP ONE : THE MAIN OUTFIT

The very first thing I do is ask myself do I want to wear a dress, a cute skirt and blouse, trouser or a jumpsuit.

Formal : If the event is very formal I always stick to a dress, it makes things easier, however IF I am feeling daring I will put out a black jumpsuit with a low cut back with a sleek gold belt.

Night out : There is always that one event which is held in a hip club, and a dress may sometimes be too formal, this is where I opt for the skirt and blouse combo. Not only is it more comfortable I feel, but it also gives of the more chilled vibe which is always the look I go for when we hit the town.

Dinner: If you are anything like me, you will always be invited to the massive dinner catch up, which are end up being such fun nights. Whenever I go out to eat, I will always stick to black skinny jeans and a blouse or top chunky heels and a blazer. The reason why I stick to that is because its very comfortable which allows me to chill and enjoy the evening and catch up with old friends rather than worry if my dress is ok.

TIP TWO : THE MAKEUP

After picking my outfit the next thing I do is pick what I am going to be doing with my makeup. My go to look is a subtle brown smokey eye, however if I am going out I will always add a little bit of glitter.

The glitter I use is the Barry M shimmer dusts, which can be purchased at Boots or Superdrug. I use the metallic's and they go under my lower lash line just to define my lower lashes.

At Christmas time, my red lipstick makes a special appearance, which is always nice. I stick to a matte finish foundation and a thick cat eye. Topped off with a bold red lip.

If I going out I will always use highlighter. I find highlighter really adds that extra bit to your makeup and really makes certain areas of your face stand out when you apply it. I use the Topshop, highlighter in Crescent Moon. I use it just above my blush on the top of your cheek bones.

TIP THREE : THE SHOES

When I go out I pick from three pairs of shoes, these consist of a pair of black heeled boots, a pair of wedged heels and a pair of nude slingbacks.

These three I find work best with everything as they are comfortable and durable and versatile.

TIP FOUR : HAVE FUN

After spending time to get ready, I always want to make sure I have fun, so surround yourself with people that are special to you, party hard and eat well .

I hope this has helped a little and the next time I speak to you all I shall be at home, getting ready for a action packed three weeks .

The Winter Season

Hey Everyone,

Hope you are all well, its been too long. Over the last few months I have been moving into university, getting used to the work load, so this weekend I have taken time out to sit down and start blogging again.

As you can all tell, the winter has arrived, the leaves have left the branches, the early mornings start have become harder and the hot chocolate has become my new BFF.

The fireworks have come and gone and the pressure of mid terms have come along. But this doesn't mean we don't have time to wrap up warm with style.

The Trusty Beanie:

For the last few months I have been searching for the perfect head gear for winter, searching asos to primark and I have discovered I think its the year I invest in a beanie. Following the winter tradition of deep warm colours, I have been looking at the maroon and green beanies.

These are just two of the many I have been looking at.

The Warm Coat

I feel like I am not the only one that treats themselves to a new winter coat, maybe each winter. I feel that with the speed of fashion, the winter coat seem to change year.
Living on a studetn budget means this year I will have to work with what I have, however this hasnt stopped me for looking at some.

This winter I have been loving the biker jacket, I love the edge it gives to an outfit, but it also gives a feminine look with the fur.

I hope this has helped with some ideas of what I have been looking at this winter.

What I am loving: statement necklaces

statement necklaces

Zara necklace

Topshop collar necklace

River Island multi colored gemstone pendant
$18 - riverisland.com

Recently, I have been noticing more and more shops starting to sell statement necklaces, from ones with thick chains to ones with colourful jewels.

For me a statement necklace can turn any outfit from a day wear to night wear. I seem to be pairing my statement necklaces with a white shirt, black jeans and nude heels.

I picked some of the most common shapes and coloured statement necklaces I have come across in the shops over the last month. I have been really liking the Zara necklaces with their funky shaped jewels and dark chains.

Topshop have a large gold based selection, and as a massive fan of gold, I instantly fell in love. The use of animals in their range is a massive hit ( the eagle necklace).

But I think my favourite statement necklace is the gold chain. I have been searching all over the shops for a gold chain and it has taken me around 1 month to find the perfect one. The prices for the gold chain vary a lot in the shops, I managed to pick one up for £4.50 from New Look, which seemed to be the cheapest I could find, that was everything I was looking for. I find the gold chain reminds me of the likes of Jay-Z and Kanye West and like power.

Overall, the statement necklace is my latest love, and it will be for a long time, probably till I start university.

Conor Maynard + M.O Music

Hey Hey,

Hope you are all well. So around 2 weeks ago now, I was lucky enough to get two tickets to the MasterCard Presents: Conor Maynard gig. The small show took place at Under the Bridge in Fulham, it is located under Chelsea football teams home ground of Stamford Bridge.

The venue was very pretty, you walked in to small booths located at the edge of the venue with a large open spaced area in the middle. When we arrived the DJ was playing and drinks and food was being served so me and my cousin ( who I took with me ) decided to grab a place next to the booths. The booths had been saved for the VIP guests and it was nice to be mingling with some stars.

So the very first act to perform were M.O Music. Before the gig I had heard some of their tracks like Wait your Turn and Aint got Time.  M.O. Music have been said to resemble the 90's girl groups like TLC, and that is not a lie, however they put a 2013 twist on things. It was very nice to see the girls perform live, and might I say they wee pretty amazing. Their quirky style mixed with their strong vocals and fierce stage presence, seems to be a combination for success. The girls managed to get the party started with their fun beats and dance moves.

After M.O Music, Conor Maynard hit the stage performing some of his well known tracks like Turn Around, Vegas Girl, Can't Say No and Animal. Alongside these Conor performed some of his album tracks like Glass Girl etc. Conor's singing career started on the famous Youtube and to stay true to his early days he done two covers ; Get Lucky and Starships.

It was nice to see someone as young as Conor Maynard getting the crowd jumping and having a good time, the set was full of a good mix of slow and fast tempo songs.

Overall, both acts performed to a very high standard and it was nice to see some of the UK's finest talent performing.

The XX - Day + Night Festival

Hi guys

So on Saturday 22nd June 2013, me and my two cousins and a friend headed down to Hatfield House in Hertfordshire for the The XX Day + Night Festival that was taking place. My cousin had actually bought me the ticket for my 18th birthday which was only a few days before.

We left around 1pm and arrived at around 3pm, when we arrived the festival was already in swing with two stages surrounded by people and the longest lines coming from the food stalls and queues that seemed to last for miles for the Bar.

The DJ stage had the likes of Sampha, Jamie XX and Benji playing 30 minutes sets on it, and the main stage was home to the likes of Solange Knowles, Poliça, London Grammar, Mount kimbie and The XX themselves.

The afternoon was full of good music and food with all the different smells of the stalls mixing together and even though the weather was looking a bit bad, we manged to have a really good time.

Jamie XX's set on the DJ stage was amazing, we managed to get really close to the front and everyone was vibing of each other and enjoying the good music.

For Solange Knowles, Poliça and The XX, we again managed to get really close to the front, and this really made the experience much better. I feel when you are closer to the artist, you can really feel their emotions and what vibe is on the stage, which really heightens the experience.

Solange Knowles and Poliça both did an amazing job and really got the crowd going, and when The XX came on stage, it was just the start of an amazing set.

The music and the atmosphere during The XX's set was out of this world. The voices of Romy and Oliver are amazing. The talent within that group is outstanding. Jamie XX is just amazing at what he does, and together The XX are one of the best groups I have seen.

If you haven't checked out any of The XX's music I would really recommend you do. As I am from London myself, its really nice to see a British group have so much success.

Check out Crystalized and Angels ( my favourite songs ).

The XX were amazing and all the other acts were outstanding, the level of talent was amazing and together they created an unforgettable festival.

A brilliant way to start of my summer.

Lets get this Party started

Hi,

Welcome to my blog, my name is Nav, and my blog name is TheVlogFix19. You are probably wondering, what on earth is this blog going to be about?

Well, this blog is basically going to consist of everything , from the places I end up going to and other random stuff

Why I put this blog together?

In around three months hopefully I should be off to university and I thought it would be an amazing idea to document everywhere I travel to, how to cope with things life will throw at you , for example stress, exams etc, and how to look your best with such a low budget ( student problems -__- ).

I have just finished taking exams bit like finals, so I have been bust attempting to pass my A-Levels, however  now that all the exams are done all  my energy is going into this blog.

I will be visiting London nearly every week in the summer, I should be learning how to drive (LOL), traveling and getting ready for university and attending a few concerts and festivals (only a few). So, TheVlogFix19 should be full of interesting and exciting things.

I am going to make Youtube videos alongside this, so all you lovely people can see what I do on holiday for example where the best places to visit, fashion tips from my lovely friends and the people of London etc.

The Youtube side will consist of more vloggy videos but also little things I come up with, hopefully you guys will enjoy it, and are entertained by my weirdness ( as much as everyone around me is ).

I hope you guys enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy making it, and hopefully we can start this journey together.

Thanks for reading,

Yours Truly,
